European Capital of Culture 2018

Role: press coordinator

A big part of the international marketing campaigns of Leeuwarden-Friesland European Capital of Culture 2018 was focused on generating earned media attention. We did so by inviting influencer journalists to visit the 2018-programme. With our small marketing and press teams, the responsibility of successfully hosting a press trip laid on only few people. As part of the international marketing team, I often took the responsibility of planning and executing some of these trips, including pitching and presenting the programme upon arrival of the journalists.

In april 2018, such a press trip was hosted for the launch of the exhibition Escher’s Journey in the Museum of Friesland.
